The podcasts I'm listening to

At the moment, I'm developing a love of podcasts. I find myself switching on an episode whilst doing things which don't require my full attention. I occasionally listen to audiobooks, but recently I've been turning more to podcasts.

Here are a few of my favourites:

'Happy Mum, Happy Baby' by Giovanna Fletcher

I know what you're thinking... Let me get this out of the way first of all - I'm not a parent and I'm not pregnant. However I love listening to Giovanna interviewing Mums (and occasionally dads). They talk about their lives and their experiences with parenting. She brings such positivity and is so supportive of all their choices: breastfeeding or bottle feeding - whatever the decision, if it makes Mum happy it's the best thing.

'At Home with...' by Lily Pebbles and Anna Newton

I love interiors, I love nosing around other people's homes and I love seeing successful women doing things that make them happy. Anna and Lily are doing exactly that; they interview women in their homes and talk life, career, and interiors. I listen to it on the 'Acast' app so I can see the photographs. The homes are always beautiful and the women are always inspiring. Depending on the guest, sometimes there's language inappropriate for little children.

'Letters From A Hopeful Creative' by Sara Tasker & Jen Carrington

I started listening to this podcast relatively recently but I'm really enjoying it. Each episode they answer a letter from a creative (artist, photographer etc) giving their guidance, sharing inspiration, and encouraging them to keep going. I have really enjoyed their advice. I will say that there is the occasional swear word so might not be your first choice while little children are listening.

'The Intentional Documentary Podcast' by Marie Masse

This podcast is one I listen to as soon as a new episode is released. I love the conversations about capturing real life stories through the camera. Marie interviews photographers I already admire and I find each episode both incredibly informative and inspiring.

I know I am the target audience for this podcast and not everyone reading this is a documentary photographer. However one of her most recent episodes talks about how we value photographs after loss. It really struck a chord with me and I feel it's worth sharing.
